Cadets is a great opportunity for young people aged 8 – 17 to learn to sail as well as socialize and have fun with other club members their own age. Cadets meet on Thursday evenings for a combination of sailing related activities and social/games. Potential new cadets are welcome to come along to a club night @ 18:30 and try it out, or you can email the cadet leaders to find out more about it if you like.
When the tides are suitable, we sometimes swap the Thursday evening for a sailing session another day. We also sometimes participate in club races on the weekend.
Cadets who plan to sail regularly will need their own wetsuit, boots and buoyancy vest, but in the club does have some spare kit for those in the early stages.
Cadets are able to join the club even if their parents aren’t sailors or members of the club, and membership forms can be found on the membership page of this site. For those who have family membership a separate form isn’t needed.
