Dinghy racing is run in conjunction with the neighbouring Essex Yacht Club. The season starts at the beginning of April, and closes with our “Brass Monkey” race in late December. A variety of races are held including longer distances, an evening series and a variety of shorter courses.
Sailing conditions also give variety with surf-able waves when the wind is in the southern quadrant. With a northerly, the wind is more variable (pond-like) coming off higher ground.
The club waters are tidal, giving up to 4 hours sailing time per high tide.
The club runs open events including our Winter Series and Brass-Monkey Trophy Race.
Support boat and race officer duty are run by volunteers. More helpers are always welcome and training can be arranged to the RYA Level 2 Motorboat level and for Race Officers.
Please see the "Sailing Instructions" menu for the sailing programme.
